Madeleine is an experienced director and field producer working across a wide range of television documentary and top rating reality programs. She has field produced and shot on over 60 episodes of ‘Bondi Rescue’ (Ch10/Nat Geo) as well as working on popular series such as ‘The Nest’ (SBS), ‘Last Chance Surgery’ (Ch7/Discovery) ‘The Poker Star’ (Ch10) and, most recently, ‘Outback Truckies’ (Ch 7).
Her long form documentary work includes directing the two-part observational documentary series for SBS ‘Making Babies’, which broadcast nationally in 2008, the 52 minute documentary ‘Beats Across Borders’ for the ABC and Cirque du Soleil and several short documentaries, part of the SBS television ‘Keeping It Together’ series. Her filmmaking has taken her around the world shooting in challenging locations such as Africa, Burma and the remote outback of Australia. Madeleine is a former graduate of AFTRS in Directing Documentary and a recipient of the Film Australia AFTRS Documentary Award. She recently finished the observational feature documentary ‘Love in Our Own Time’ (Screen Australia) a film she co-Directed with Tom Murray about the nature of love at different stages of life.
Through this course she will teach how to combine a strong creative eye with the working knowledge of how to effectively write, direct and deliver compelling segments for television prime time programs.
