School Holidays

AFTRS school holiday workshops are designed to give kids and teens fun and creative experiences in a professional environment.

This July school holidays, work in our state-of-the-art film studios in Moore Park, Sydney with industry tutors to write, shoot and cut for screen.

Courses will include:
9 – 12 YEAR OLDS
ACTING FOR FILM & TELEVISION (Mon 2 – Wed 4 July)
Learn acting techniques from a screen actor and TV presenter in a professional filmmaking studio. Learn what is required of a screen actor including working with a director, rehearsal techniques, acting to camera and audition techniques.

15 – 18 YEAR OLDS
THE REAL FILMMAKING WORKSHOP (Mon 2 – Fri 6 July)
WRITE, SHOOT, CUT AND SCREEN your film in just 5 days in our premier filmmaking workshop for young people. Work with a director, actors and crew using professional equipment in AFTRS state-of-the-art film studios. You’ll learn how to direct actors and about technical elements of filmmaking including camera skills, lighting, sound and editing, plus finish with a screening of your film in a real 130 seat cinema – all in one week!

12 – 15 YEAR OLDS
DIGITAL ANIMATION (Mon 9 – Wed 11 July)
Learn digital animation skills to get you started on your animation journey. Guided by a professional animator, work with the latest software – Maya, After Effects CS5 and Flash.

All courses are taught by industry professionals at AFTRS state-of- the-art film studios at the Entertainment Quarter, Moore Park, Sydney. Book 28 days in advance and receive a 10% Early Bird discount!
