Please note only one discount type is available per course.
AFTRS Staff
AFTRS staff and their immediate families are entitled to a 10% discount on all AFTRS Open Short Courses.
AFTRS Students
All enrolled students at AFTRS and their immediate families are entitled to a 10% discount on all AFTRS Open Short Courses.
Industry Memberships
Members of the following industry associations are entitled to a 10% discount on all AFTRS Open Short Courses:
- Australian Directors Guild
- Screen Producers Association of Australian
- Australian Writers Guild
- Australian Cinematographers Society
- Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance
- Australian Guild of Screen Composers
- Australian Screen Editors Guild
- Media Entertainment & Arts Alliance
State Funded Applicants
Applicants whose course fees are paid for by a state funding agency are entitled to a 10% discount on all AFTRS Open Short Courses. Applications must be accompanied by supporting documents from state funding bodies.
Senior Citizens
All senior citizens with a valid seniors card are entitled to a 20% discount on some AFTRS Open Short Courses. Where applicable this discount is highlighted on the course detail page.
Group Bookings
Groups of 20 or more applicants are entitled to a 20% discount on the provision that all applications and payments are made simultaneously. This discount is not available across all courses. Please check with Open for confirmation.
Multiple Course Bookings
Applicants paying for three or more courses at the same time are entitled to a discount of 10% on the multiple booking. In the event of a refund being requested for any of these courses, other than due to AFTRS’ cancellation of the course, the discount will no longer apply, and the discounted amount for the remaining courses will be deducted from any refund.
Early Bird Discount
Many of AFTRS courses offer an early bird discount of 10% for applicants paying 28 days in advance of commencement. Some courses are exempt from the early bird rate, these are generally specialised industry courses or those courses run by AFTRS on behalf of industry bodies.
In the event of a refund being requested for any of these courses, other than due to AFTRS’ cancellation of the course, the discount will no longer apply, and the discounted amount for the remaining courses will be deducted from any refund.
AFTRS Volunteers
Volunteers who have been certified by AFTRS Production Resources Unit as having completed more than 40 hours volunteering on AFTRS productions are entitled to a 10% discount on all AFTRS Open Short Courses.
This discount is available for 12 months following the date on which the first applicable production commenced shooting. From 2011 onwards, volunteers will only be entitled to a single 10 per cent discount for a course for each 40 hours they have worked.
