Internationally renowned writer, producer and director Jocelyn Moorhouse (Proof, Muriel’s Wedding) examines the genre of adaptation.
From the earliest days of cinema, adaptation of text to screen has been as popular as the development of original screenplays. Adaptations account for a large number of Oscar and award-winning films, regularly generating successful box office returns. Many experts believe that at least a third of the projects on a producer’s slate should be adaptations.
Adaptation presents many unique challenges to a screenwriter and this workshop will examine the styles of adaptation and provide practitioners with tools to assist them in repackaging narratives into a Screenplay.
