On set stills are the most valuable marketing tools you can have but they are often done badly or overlooked entirely. Taught by Alina Gozin’a, an award winning photographer, this two day Production Stills Masterclass is an intense exploration of photography on Film & TV sets and for Theatre and Music Clips.
Students will be immersed in the art and craft of on set stills photography and will be introduced to the tools required to capture mesmerizing images for publicity of your Film, TV or Theatre show, Music Clip or TVC.
Guest speakers from Producing, Distribution and Publicity include: Matin Brown Producer (Moulin Rouge); Jullian Heggie (Hopscotch); Tracey Mair (Unit Publicist); Catherine Lavelle (Unit Publicist). Alina and guests will discuss the importance of Publicity Stills (both Unit Stills and Key Art), the challenges of delivery, the stills selection process, marketing the film and catering for numerous markets and demographics around the world.
This course features an opportunity to visit a working AFTRS student film set to take actual production stills.
Learn how to be an On Set Photographer and begin your career in the world of entertainment. No significant prior professional experience in photography is assumed but basic photography knowledge is expected.
N.B. - Students are expected to bring their own DSLR camera to use. If you do not have a DSLR to bring to the course please email us on open@aftrs.edu.au after you have enrolled.
